There are lot of sights to see in Darjeeling like the Shrubbery Park, Darjeeling Toy Train, picturesque parks and gardens, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Natural History Museum and lot of other ones. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is the center in India for breeding of snow leopard. The Ussurian tigers and black bear of Himalayan are the best things to see in the city.
The high altitude places are best to treks in the Singalila range in the city. The favorable season to plan the trip is in the month of April-May and October-November.

By Air :

The closest airport to reach is Bagdogra which is at a distance of about 94 kms from Darjeeling. Many flights links with Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati directly i.e. non stop they move. Travelers can hire taxis or cabs to Darjeeling from Bagdogra.

By Train :

The closest railway station is in Siliguri. The small toy train is a joy ride from New Jalpaiguri/Siliguri.

By Road :

Moving around in the city is easy by the Buses and local taxis which depart for Siliguri in every half an hour. Traveling is a surprise in plains of beautiful hills, waterfalls and huge trees. The public transport of buses can be catched and also the private cabs, taxis can be hired from Mirik, Gangtok, and Sikkim to reach.
