The city is the winter capital of the state. The city has many ancient temples and so is famous for it. Jammu was formerly known as Jamboo. Jammu is located on hills and on the side of Tawi River. It is also surrounded by the Udhampur and Kathua district in the north part. The city has a beautiful blend of arts and culture.
