One of the famous destinations in Madhya Pradesh is Khajuraho. It is a town which is situated in chhatarpur district. What to See

The temples of khajuraho depict the rich culture and heritage of the town. The glory of the past is retained in the temples of Khajuraho which were built over hundred years ago and contributes to country’s uniqueness. There are other destinations like Bandhavgarh, Hemvati, Kandariya, Kalinjar, Beejamandal, archeological sites and Bambar Baini.
The divine temples here are mostly dedicated to lord Vishnu and Shiva. There are western temples also which are largely found here.
The beautifully carved sculptures show various deities, celestial maidens, provocative postures, lovely couples, musicians and dancers in numerous refinements.

Getting There :

Khajuraho has well-built network with other parts of the country by air, and well connected with railways and by road.

By Air :

The airport is 3km away from the center of the city and operates flights everyday from Varanasi, Kathmandu and Khajuraho.

By Train :

The closest railway lines here are at Harpalpur which is 100km away and Mahoba which is 64 km away. For passengers coming from Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Varanasi and Chennai, railway lines from Jhansi and Satna are easily available. It takes around 3 to 4 hours from Delhi to Jhansi through super Ast Shatabdi express.

By Road :

Numerous government and private buses are readily available and the buses are connected from almost all the cities of the country. The buses are very fast mode of transportation and is very comfortable. For local transportation auto rickshaws, pre paid taxi are very convenient and cheap which makes it very easy for the travelers to roam within the town.
