City Overview :

Kochi is a city of eranakulam district of Kerala and lies at a distance of 220km north from Thiruvananthapuram. It was earlier called kochin but now is called Kochi which serves as a seaport of the country.
It is a rapidly growing city of the country and is a commercial hub of the state. It is growing in every field be it a sector of tourism or international trade or information technology. The city is an absolute combination of cultural heritage and modernization as it has retained the glory of past and also accepted the new ways to develop. It is a city with collection of people of every religion which suffers problems like traffic congestion, environment degradation and overcrowded city but still and is a fast growing second tier metro of the country.

What to See :

There are countless attractions of this place such as exquisite Kochi Fort and dazzling Kochi Beach, Chinese Fishing Nets, historical Parikshit Thampuran museum, Jewish Synagogue and Dutch Palace. The favorite spot of the tourists is splendid and spectacular Fort Kochi. The oldest church of the city built by Europeans is St. Francis church and is also a must to see.
There is one more divine church called Santa Cruz Basilica church which was constructed in the year 1905 by Britishers as they destroyed the former cathedral church which was built by Portuguese.

By Air:

Kochi has a domestic and international airport and tourists can get domestic and international lines daily.

By Rail:

There are three railway stations which link the whole city with all the major parts of the country and also serve as the starting point of many major trains. The three railway stations are Kochi Harbor Terminus, Eranakulam Junction and Eranakulam Town and transportation through train is very fast and convenient from the city.

By Road:

Like railway stations the city also has three national highway passing and covering the whole city and many private and government buses are available here which are very comfortable and cheap.
