City Overview :

Nasik is a very famous city of Maharashtra and is absolute blend of historical, cultural, industrial and agricultural beauty and is treated like an asset for the state. It is the city which is renowned in the world for its kumbhmela which is arranged once in 12 years. There is a beautiful place called tapovan which is near nashik and it is a belief of people that in ancient times lord Rama and sita mata spent their 14 yrs of exile here. It was later on renamed as gulshanbad by the Mughal Empire and has gorgeous hills and valleys and pleasing climate is again a popular destination to attract the tourists. The dazzling and holy Godavari River flows through trimbakeshwar which is a holy and religious place and is rapidly developing.

What to See

Numerous places to see are Gangapur dam, Dudhsagar falls.
Someshwar: The temple is very old and magnificent. This place is located near the Gangapur Road, 6-km far from the city. Wani: it is yet another temple of Sapatashrungi Mata located on Saptashruga hill.
Nanduri. At a distance of 52-Kms from the City which is on top of a hill.
The major tourist sites are Trambkeshwar and Panchvati, Anjani parvat and Pundavleni caves.

Nasik has well-built channel to link with other part of the world by air, railways and by road.

By Air :

The airport is named as Ozar airport, regular flights of kingfisher airlines move from Mumbai to Nasik. From the airport tourists can hire taxi.

By Train :

The Central Railway of the city and numerous trains move from one city to another. Trains like Panchavati and Godavari express links to Mumbai.

By Road :

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation runs many buses which covers many cities, and towns. Apart from this the private buses also ply to different state and cities of the country. Visitors can use taxis, auto-rickshaws and vans.
