City Overview :

Shirdi is a holy and religious place and lies in Rahata taluka of Ahmednagar District in the state of Maharashtra. To place is world renowned for Guru Shirdi Sai Baba. The place is at a distance of around 296km from Mumbai and is a pilgrimage center in India's map and the magnificent temple and is dedicated to Sai Baba.

What to See

The Samadhi inside the temple is built of pure white marble and the statue of baba is also built by white marble. The timings of the temple are from 5am in the morning till 10pm and the temple is closed by divine night prayers. A dwarkamai mosque also lies on the right side of the entrance of the splendid Samadhi mandir. Tourists are spell bounded by the temple where the approximate waiting time for darshn is of an hour.
Places around Shirdi:
There are a collection of places around Shirdi and some of the places are Sakori place of Upasini Maharaj which is around 5km away from Shirdi and Shani Singhnapur which is at a distance of 68km. besides it the fascinating Someshwar temple dedicated to Mahadeva and located on the Gangapur road is also a major attraction of the tourists. It is at a distance of 6km from Nasik city and is situated on the banks of Godavari River.
Another charming and divine temple wani dedicated to Sapatashrungi Mata lies near Nanduri which is a village and is around 52-Kms from Nasik. This temple also organizes a very big fair in April every year.
Stone Age exciting and adventurous waterfalls near Gangapur, Anjani Parvat waterfalls, and exotic Buddhist origin Pundavleni caves are also a must to see. There are several tempting places near Shirdi also which consists of Nasik, Panchvati and Trambkeshwar.

Getting There :

It is on the seashore line at a distance of 185 km, Shirdi on the east side which is generally a very busy route.
By Air :
The nearest airport is in Aurangabad 125 km away. Apart from this the other one is Mumbai airports at 260 km and Pune at 185 km. tourists can hire Taxis to get to Shirdi.
By Train :
The railhead is the Sainagar Shirdi railway station which is far of 2km away. The other station is manmad station which is 58km from the place.
By Road :
Shirdi's connection to all places is really well built. The public and private deluxe buses can be taken for the other main cities.
