City Overview :

Sunderbans are known for its dense and halophytic mangrove forest in the globe. The major Sunderbans National Park is situated on the World's largest Delta which is formed by the rivers Ganga, Brahmaputra and Meghana. The sanctuary is the world's largest estuarine sanctuary. It just not only a National Park but also the tiger reserve is a World Heritage site and a reserve.

Getting There :

By Air :

Kolkata airport is the nearest airport to Sunderbans which s known as the Dum Dum Airport at 112 kms away. Buses and taxis can be hired to Sunderbans.

By Train :

The nearest railhead is at the Canning Port at 44 kms far. Tourists can take a boat from the Basanti or Sonakhali till there.

By Road :

Sunderbans is accessed by roads also. Buses can be taken from Kolkata for Namkhana, Raidighi, Sonakhali, Najat and Canning which are near by to Sunderbans and an easily approachable by waterways.

By Water :

Tourists can easily access Sunderbans by getting into a cruise from which places/areas like the Namkhana, Bhagabatpur, Sagar Island, Sajnekhali - Sudhanyakhali-Buridabri- Netidhopan; Sonakhali - Gosaba and Raidighi – Kalas can be seen through this.
